I hope everyone had a wonderful week, and if you are reading this saying 'No, Catherine I had a terrible week!' well at least smile, this week is over. Even if you have work, sports or other extra curricular activities, I hope you can at least sleep in for at least an hour or too.

So I though I would do a weekly segment called, "This week I learned..." I'll share a few things that I have learned, both academically, socially and anything that falls in-between. So here is the first installment of This week I learned...

This week I learned...

1. Some professors don't care that Monday will be the day after the Super Bowl, they will give you an exam anyway.

2. Some people think chicken wings are disgusting

3. Intergration by parts and by partial fractions are not as bad as they first seemed.

4. I can actually say the above statement and mean it

5. If you are nice to people, they generally tend to be nice to you, if anything just smile, it makes a world of a difference ( not really something I learned, but it is something I was reminded of)

6. Sometimes you just can't explain circumstances as anything but fate

7. Bad things happen to good people ( This I was reminded of)

8. Life really can surprise you when you least expect it

9. You are never to old to just call your parents just to talk to them

10. If your college offers a tutoring service, sign up ( you do not need to be doing poorly in a class to want/ have a tutor)

That's all I can think for right now, I'll add later if I think of any more. I hope everyone enjoys this weekend, wether you are looking forward to watching the game of watching the commercials.

Lots of Love,

This was supposed to be posted Friday night, so I apologize, the wifi here is so bad that is says it completes things ( like uploading, but it doesn't). So here you are

I have some news for you guys. I started an instagram account for you guys to follow, since that it much easier to update while I'm out and about at classes during the day and throughout the week.
Go log onto Instagram and follow bookwormwithstyle ( which, if you haven't noticed, is the new name of this blog)

I will try my hardest to give you guys more updates this weekend, as I have found an enormous amount of beauty and school/college things for your benefit.  ( I am currently writing this as I wait for my laundry to be done.)

If you have any questions about anything, leave me a comment

Lots of Love,

Hello Everyone!

I hope everyone is doing well on this Monday morning. To all my east cost readers, I hope you all have enough blankets, batteries and warm sweaters with you, because the weather channel said you guys were going to be hit hard with snow, and in some places, blizzard like conditions.

This is actually why I am making this post currently. I rounded up some tips and warm weather gear to help you all through the next few days.

Snow essentials

       1. Batteries- If you live in a dorm, do yourself a favor and, even if you have a generator, do grab a pack or two of batteries, just trust me on this one.

      2. Now that you have batteries, make sure you have any and all flashlights in places you can easily get to ( that does not mean on the top shelf of your closet, where you think the flashlight  may be)

3. Charge everything, phone, laptop, tablet etc. The most important thing, don't just plug it in and then unplug it when it has a full charge, leave if charging so if/when the power goes out, it is 100% charged. You don't know how long you may be without power.

4. Keep checking your school email/ phone to make sure you are receiving any and all updates from the college as to class cancelation or college closings.

5. Speaking of checking your email/phone, check any websites that you may have homework on, print anything that you may need to read or complete so if the power does go out, you have it with you if you want to get it done.

6. DO NOT, under any circumstances, go outside without a heavy winter jacket. I don't care if it is to just walk to the dining hall, and I have 2 reasons for this. Number one; it is below freezing outside and frost bite or even wind burn can develop quickly, especially if there are high winds. And reason number two; it is flu season, don't make your body an open target by allowing yourself to catch a cold, which can waken your immune system and makes it easier to catch the flu.

So, all of that being said, stay safe and stay warm. More to come soon.

Lots of Love,

So, I have managed to get most of this reading done so I thought I would give everyone an update on what has been doing on.

Semester 2 of my 1st year of college is a go, and so far, its not too bad. I know what to expect and have a good idea of what needs to be changed so I can do better this semester.

Speaking of doing better, I, as well as a majority of the world's population, am determined to do well at treating my body better this year. That being said, I have managed to get my butt to the gym three times this week, ( my personal minimum for a week) and I order something that I have seen all over my instagram feed for over the past 6 months.

That would be, YourTea, the company that provides tea blends to help you achieve heath and body goals from the inside out. I ordered the tiny tea 14 day detox, but I have yet to get my shipment so I can't say it's a miracle product, but after some research, it seems to really help those who are eating right and exercising regularly. I'll keep you updated on what it does/or doesn't do.

If you would like to join me in this experiment, head on over to and order you tea right now!

Wow, that was a lot to say, I didn't seem like that much in my head. I'm am off to go to breakfast as my friends and banging on my door so we can eat. ( Side note: Who opens the dining hall or breakfast at 10! I'm hungry) Anyone else's dining hall open late on the weekends?

Until next time,
 Lots of Love,

Ok so maybe my 'brilliant' idea of getting something done over break didn't go as planned. To begin this long story we will start with December, so when I got home,  Finals drained my brain and body so naturally, all I wanted to do was sleep. Then i wanted to see friends I haven't seen since August, ( to say it was an emotional roller-coaster is an understatement). Then I blinked and it was Christmas Eve, and I was going out to celebrate with my family Italian style, seven fishes and the fixings. Then we went right to New Year's which then went right to two days before I left to go back to college and I realized that this blog had gone untouched for roughly 2 months. So yes, I am terrible at keeping this up. BUT! My New Year's resolution ( beside doing well in school eating healthy and the usual resolutions) is to keep this updated on at least a weekly basis, most likely the weekends. So today starts the trend ( better late than never)

I will update a little bit later, after I read my micro economics and do some chemistry.

Much love,
