Happy Monday Morning Bookworms!

I know its Monday, and its gross outside (it is current 46 F outside and miserable, but at least the sun is shining) but it's a new week with new possibilities.
I have been super busy (which I know I say a lot but I really mean it when I say it) but here are a few things I have learned in my absence.

1. There will be those things that will kick you in the ass, so just turn around and kick them back

2. A step in the right direction may be small, but it it still progress

3. Never underestimate what a friend will do, it make be as simple as sending you a funny picture or as extreme as driving 10 hours just to spend a night with you, no matter the magnitude, they are all acts of love, so never take them for granted

4. It's ok to be spoiled, it's NOT ok to be a spoiled brat

5. Oreos are delicious but they can also chip ceiling paint, so when throwing them to your roommates, proceed with caution

6. Your roommates are there for you for everything, so make sure to thank them every once and a while

7. Try and do something for someone, it not only makes you feel better, but it helps those in need tremendously, and it doesn't need to be extravagant, it could simply be sending a few dollars towards a local or national cause

Hope everyone has had a good start to their week, I will be back hopefully tomorrow with another post. Talk to you all soon.

Lots of Love,

Hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday! I'm sitting in my dorm room typing this during my study break, trying to stay warm from the freezing cold weather outside. I have my Fall Break this upcoming weekend, which means a few days of relaxation and hopefully more updates. But, I figured I would put out my most recent installment of Weekly Wisdoms to give you all something to read until then.

1. Always try to do something, even if its only an hour a week, that you enjoy. You don't have to be good at it, it doesn't have to be popular, but don;'t deny yourself an hour of sanity of fun. Every single one of you has a lot on their plate, so take some time to forget everything you need to do and just enjoy yourself, just for a little bit.

2. Relationships are messy, but that doesn't mean they won't be worth it, wether they last or not.

3. Never feel bad or let someone make you feel bad for caring about someone

4. Always stay humble

5. If you try your best, then don't beat yourself up about the outcome. Take what happened and learn from it

6. Sometimes you just need to be together with your friends, with bagels and coffee, making homemade face masks and coloring princess coloring pages to help you relax on a Saturday.

Talk to you all really soon! Stay warm and be happy!

Lots of Love,

Happy Sunday Morning Bookworms!

I hope everyone has had a good few weeks since I last updated. To my college bookworms, I hope everyone is well adjusted and enjoying their college life. To my high school/middle school bookworms, I hope the first week has gone by smoothly.

To explain my absence, I have been just running around getting stuff done to start my semester, and boy have the past two weeks flown by.

Now, hopefully, since the running around for the most part is over, I hope to truly update more often, and my roommates even said they would be ok and willing to participate in videos, should I find the time to film and edit one, so that's good news!

For the time being, here are some Weekly Wisdoms for you all to read and think about while I start my homework and hopefully make a schedule that allows me to update more.

1.You don't need letters to say you are a part of a sisterhood, you just need your friends who make you feel like you are worth a million bucks

2. Everything in life, to some degree, has to do with politics, the quicker you realize that, the easier life will be and you will understand so much more

3. Retail therapy actually does work

4. Even when you think nothing will go right, there will be a moment, where everything that felt wrong, suddenly goes the way you want, and everything falls into place

5. You don't have to be best friends with your roommates, despite popular belief, but it is honestly one of the best things in the world if they are

6. Life live, one day at a time

Talk to you all soon!

Lots of Love,

Hello Bookworms!

I am back and ready to go, full steam ahead. Now that school is quickly approaching, I feel myself more motivated to make a schedule and stick to it, which means more consistent posts!

I'll go into more detail in another post explaining the details of what me going back to school will mean for this blog. But for now, sit back, grab a cup of tea or coffee and read some very long overdue weekly wisdoms.

1. "Hope can be paralyzing" -Criminal Minds

2. Count your blessings, be thankful, then count again

3. It's okay to need someone, don't let others tell you otherwise

4. Crossing that last task off of your list gives an incredible feeling of accomplishment

5. " Family is a haven in a heartless world " - Criminal Minds

6. Emotions are a roller coaster, so enjoy the highs and endure the lows, because nothing lasts forever

7. Time flies when you are enjoying your company

8. Whatever you are dealing with, you will get through it, just give it some time

9. Forgiveness is not an a given just because you are sorry, it is earned based on your sincerity

10.  "Missing someone is your hearts way of reminding you that you love them" - One Tree Hill

Hope everyone is enjoying their summer and I will talk to you all really soon.

Lots of Love,

Hello Bookworms!

I cannot believe it has already been a week into August! I feel as if summer just started, I blinked and it is almost over!  I have a few things planned for this week. I (very late) favorites video since I have finally managed to get a large enough memory card to film a video that is longer than 10 minutes, though editing is still not going as smoothly as possible. I have a small review on a few products that I'll do a blog post on and then last but not least, I have the weekly wisdoms for you.

Without further adieu, here they are!

1. Even those that are strong have an achilles heel, not matter how strong the armor, there is always one spot that has a weakness

2. What may seem like a mole hill of a problem to you may be a mountain of a problem to someone else, remember that experiences are relative

3. " Never let the fear of striking you out, keep you from playing the game" - Babe Ruth

4. Sometimes you just need your best friends, gooey chocolatey brownies and a stupid movie to have a good night

5. Everything I want comes out at the same time, it's as if the universe knows my weaknesses

Hello Bookworms

It is time for the first 'Photo Find" on this blog. A few days ago I posted a photo from Debby Ryan's Instagram. Here is the picture a little larger than the original below for those who may not have viewed the last post.
Here are the objects I was able to find

2. MAC lipstick, though I'm not sure the exact color
3. Great Lash Clear Mascara
4. Bath and Body Works Istanbul Candle- I have one in my room and it smells incredible
5. Revlon Nail art- these appear to be the old colors and are no longer available
6. Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner- pictured in color glamrock
7. Urban Decay shadow- not sure what shade, though from the picture it appears to be a purple shade, it appears to be Asphyxia
8. It's from Youngblood cosmetics, and it looks to be their lunar powder, which Debby has mentioned that she loves using, in past interviews. It appears to be in either sunset or dusk, which are the darker of the three available colors.
9. Citre Shine Shine Mist- found here on overstock
10.Real Techniques Bold Metals brush - 101 triangle foundation brush
11. Bath and Body Works- Velvet Sugar body mist
13. B-12, can be found at any local drugstore, Walmart, Target etc.
14. Peter Pan Collar- not sure the exact brand but check out Etsy for some cool collars
15.  The sunglasses seem to be the Twiggy Sunglasses in white from Wildfox Couture
The only object I could not find is what appears to be the sunglasses case, I know there is a similar one at H&M, but I believe it is in stores only

I hope everyone enjoyed this! If there is anything you believed I miss labeled, or you liked this  please let me know by emailing me at or leaving a comment. Thank You for reading!

Lots of Love, Catherine

Hello Bookworms, I am feeling good and want to post a few more things today to make up for the lack of posts this past few weeks. I feel like I'm on a roll. So this post will be weekly wisdoms, but I've decided to include quotes that have stuck out to me over the course of a week. Hope you like the additions!

1. It's not always the 'doing something' that is hard, its the getting started that can be hard. Just one step forward is one step closer to the goal, once you start, the only thing stopping you is, well, you.

2. Try not to overthink, it will drive you crazy and can create situations that probably don;t even exist, you'll make mountains out of mole hills.

3. "Fill your capacity to care"

4. "Nothing is permanent, not even our troubles," Charlie Chaplin

5. Never take the people you see everyday for granted

Let me know what quotes stood out to you this week at

Lots of Love,

Good Afternoon Bookworms,

I thought I would let you know all about this new weekly posting I would like to do. I'm sure it's not just me who loves to open Instagram and scroll through their feed and fall in love with a breathtaking landscape, or two best friends enjoying a weekend at the shore, or a wonderful assortment of beauty products that just happen to 'fall' in a picturesque way.  It is the last one that I find myself more drawn to than the others, though breathtaking scenery as made me compile a list of places to visit.

I have always loved to take screen shots of the pictures I like and then try to find the products later. I know that there are other people who turn to the comments to see if anyone knows that products posted in the picture, so I decided I would do just that, and post them here to share with you guys.

It will be at least once and week and it's almost like you can shop the picture. I will also post the original picture and the products I manage to find on my polyvore account, which allows its users to create sets with picture that will send you to places that you can buy the pictures. I will have the link down below.

The first picture I will shop for you all is by the lovely Debby Ryan, known for her affinity for hair dye and her Disney turned rocker switch into the music scene. She is a part of a three piece band called The Never Ending. Having always been obsessed with her instagram pictures, I am very excited to have this as the first picture. Here is a look at the picture I will be 'shopping'

Lots of Love,

Hello bookworms! I have a few updates for you and thought I would let you know what has been going on in my 10 days vacation from here.

For the video update, I was able to film but for some reason, editing didn't go was well as planned so I will have to work on learning iMovie better in order to film some upcoming videos for you guys. That being said, there will be videos, I am planning on getting a monthly favorites and an empties video filmed and hopefully uploaded.

But until then, I have a few wisdoms to share with you

1. You only have one chance to say certain things, so choose your words carefully

2. You can be afraid, but that does not make you a coward

3. The butterflies in your stomach feeling will never be something I think you will ever get used to

4. Waking up to a message is a guaranteed way to start your day with a smile

Hope everyone is enjoying their week.

I have a new weekly posting I want to do and would like to know if anyone would like it. I will make a separate post about it so it gets the attention it deserves. Stay tuned.

Lots of Love,

Want to talk to me? e email me at with any comments, questions or suggestions you may have. I would love to talk to all of the wonderful people who come and read this blog.

Video update!

So the haul video is filmed (yay) however, for some reason, when I uploaded the footage into iMovie, it cuts out after the first 12 seconds, I don't know if it need time to buffer and load, but for now, I can't edit. I have never used iMovie before, I have only sued Final Cut Pro and that was at school.

So until I get this sorted out, the video is on hold, BUT I will attempt to film a favorites video that doesn't need to be edited (I'm feeling ambitious) so I can just upload to iMovie and export to youtube. I'll keep you all updated. For those of you that have stuck with me, THANK YOU!!!!! I wish I could give you all a huge hug and personally say thank you.

Enjoy the rest of your Friday, you made it!

Lots of Love,

P.S. If anyone has any suggestions, that would be great and much appreciated

Thursday, July 9, 2015

Good morning bookworms!

I hope you all have had a wonderful weekend, and enjoyed your 4th of July celebrations. I have a few wisdoms to share with you and a little bit of news as well.

Lets start with the news first, I know I said I would film and get a video up but the footage didn't come out to my liking so I never posted, BUT I found a better camera I can use (yay!) and will attempt to re-film the videos I promised and also attempt to film a June favorites. Hopefully if I can find the motivation I will film today and edit, and upload tomorrow.

Now that the news bit is over, how about some Weekly Wisdoms,

1. It's nice to capture the moment with pictures, but don't forget to experience the moment, and not just through a camera screen

2. Sometimes all you need is sand, sun, beach, music and your best friend

3. Some people just know when you need to hear from them, like they are you own guardian angel

4. Time heals wounds, so you must trust time to run its course and just be a little patient

5. It isn't always what you say that can upset somebody, but how you say it

6. Regular is not a flavor, so when I ask what flavor you want, don't get annoyed when I ask again and list the flavors we have for the second time

Hope everyone is enjoying their week, and for those of you that are just waiting for the weekend, just one more day! Talk to you all soon.

Lots of Love,

Good Morning Bookworms!

I know it's been awhile since I have posted anything, but I guess summer, sun and heat got to my head and I forgot about this wonderful little blog for a little bit. But fear not, I'm back and ready to post.

I know I posted about a video a little while ago, but the iPad footage didn't come out as great as I had hoped so maybe filming for now should just be put on hold until I can invest in a decent camera. That being said, I may try and do a blog post on the empties, highlighting just a few things I believe are worthy of mention, and will do the same for the haul. Then hopefully tomorrow, I will have a June favorites out and ready for you all to enjoy before I head off to work.

So for now, here are a few wisdoms from the past few days,

1. Always try to be the bigger person, even when someone doesn't deserve your kindness or sympathy

2. You think you have people all figured out, and then they surprise you

3. Life can be very complicated, surround yourself with people that make everything the complicated bearable

4. Sometimes, you just have to fight through the pain, knowing that the end will be rewarding, despite the journey that it took to get there

5. Sometimes, all you need is a hug

That is everything for today. Enjoy the rest of your week. Hopefully it is sunny and warm where you are, so go soak up some vitamin d ( after you put on some spf) and remember to stay hydrated!

Lots of Love,

Hello Bookworms!

I know that it's late, at least for me, but I just wanted to let you know that tomorrow I am determined to film and hopefully upload a video for you all. I was thinking of a small introduction to, well, me followed by either a haul or empties video, I'll have to see which one I feel like tomorrow.

A fair warning, it won't be super high quality, as I do not own a nice filming camera, I will be using an iPad to film and either trying to film everything in one fail swoop or using Imovie to edit as again, I'm a college student and wants everyone to create a channel with useful information, encourage other boys and girls to share their interest without thinking they need to have phenomenal video quality and outstanding editing techniques. Hopefully, if enough people take some interest, I will consider saving some money to invest in nicer equipment, but until then, I'm working with what I have.

O and just an additional last minute note, I have always wanted to try glossier products, and with the release of their new product, the coconut balm dotcom, they are giving anyone who wants to sign up with their email an opportunity to win prizes.

So for me, here is the link that helps me earn tally marks towards prizer, and it helps you too,  you can also win, so pretty please with rainbow sprinkles on top, click this link and help me out.

Thank you all and lots of love,

Happy Sunday Bookworms. Hope everyone has had a good weekend and will continue to enjoy the day. Here are a few wisdoms to read to while you drink your coffee and enjoy your morning.

1. Getting your first paycheck is one of the greatest feelings of accomplishments ever

2. You can never love too much, if someone says you do, find someone who wants every ounce of your love

3. It's the dumb conversations that you remember, the ones that stick in your brain

4. Dreams do come true, you just need time, patience and a little faith

5. Sometimes you loose a fight with a sink, and you slip on water, and you have to close all by your self at work, but the bad can only last for so long

6. Friends have your back, no matter how trivial you think the matter may be.

Have a wonderful Sunday and hope to talk to you all really soon.

Happy Monday Bookworms!

Hope everyone is doing well. I was thinking of what to post in addition to the weekly wisdoms when I noticed I never did a monthly favorites.

There are not a ton of products, since I haven't really gotten too many new things recently, but here are my May Monthly favorites.

Beauty Bits

1. Bobbi Brown Corrector  2. Clinique Even Better Foundation  3. The Body Shop Peppermint Foot lotion  4.  e.l.f. matte lipstick in tea rose   5. Ecotools buffing brush  6. Buxom lipgloss in Sophia  7. Mary-Lou manizer highlighter

1. The Bobbi Brown Corrector is wonderful. I don't necessarily have dark circles but because I am so pale the veins under my eye give the appearance of very dark circles so this wonderful little product does the trick of concealing them.

2.  For the face I have been loving the Clinique Even Better foundation. I have used Clinique since I was in 7th grade and to this day it is my go to brand for makeup. This foundation doesn't disappoint, it gives nice, natural coverage, some spf benefits. The only tip I have is use a buffing brush to avoid any streaking ( see above ecotools brush, it rocks) and give it a few minutes to settle into the skin, it may go on a little powdery at first but looks amazing after 5 minutes

3. After my shifts at work, and being on my feet all day, they tend to hurt the minute I sit down and take my shoes off. This lotion, while not a necessity, makes your feet feel so much better after standing for 5 + hours.

4. This lip color is just a beautiful pink shade, last pretty long without being overly drying and the best part, it costs 3 dollars!

5. This brush is super soft and does an amazing job at blending out virtually anything, though I like it best for foundation

6. I have wanted to try a Buxom gloss for quite some time now. When I saw I could get it with my Beauty Insider Points, I grabbed it before it could go out of stock. It is a beautiful color, with a slight stickyness to it, but just enough to last without feeling goopy. It does have a minty/ tingly feeling on the lips, which I happen to like, so be mindful of that if that's not something you like.

7. This is the perfect luminizer, though you need to be carful or else you can wind up looking like a disco ball. I love it with a light hand on the cheek bones and just some light pink or peach blush. Absolutely stunning.

Random Bits
1. Hush Hush series ( The fourth and final book shown)  2. Sailor Moon Season 1 (the new dub)
3. mybkr bottle (in kitten)
 1. I have read this series about 5 times but in those times I never read the final book. I am the bookworm that will get to the last 40 pages, put the book on my bed and pace for 10 minutes debating if I want to finish the book. Part of me wants to see how it ends, part of me dreads to see how it ends. Does that make sense to anyone but me? Anyway, it was a really good book, your typical YA book but one I will read over and over until the binding falls apart.

2. Ok, these DVDs have a special place in my heart. I used to watch the VHS tape of Sailor Moon R: Promise of the rose after swim practice on a Saturday morning and then whenI discovered there was an actual TV show, I begged to go to Blockbuster ( yes, Blockbuster) and see if I could find a few episodes. I would watch it rewind and watch it again and again and again. So when I heard they were re-releasing the entire series, I was beyond excited. If you enjoyed Sailor Moon and a child, you should definitely check these out.

3. Last but not least, is the cute glass water bottle. Seems pretty normal right. Well it is, but this water bottle has an actual story. These line of bottles are created by two best friends who believe that a water bottle should be glamorous, since you use it every day just about all day. Though they are pricy, I think they are worth the money. I have so many good things to say about this bottle, I will have a full blog post on them, they are just that wonderful. If you want to check them out ASAP, it's

Hope everyone had a great May, and is having a wonderful June.

Happy Sunday Evening Bookworms!

I have this weeks wisdoms, a little delayed because of work but I have learned quite a lot over the past few days.

1. Sticky is a the worst feeling in the world

2. Read everything carefully, it will prevent you from making a fool out of yourself

3. Friends is an amazing show and I can't believe it has taken me this long to watch it

4. Netflix is amazing ( and highly addictive)

5. Dogs love too much, that is why they are always so tired

6. Saving tips is a good way to save money for something like that bag you have always wanted, that new foundation/lipstick/mascara you have been wanting, or saving for a Spring Break trip

7. Online shopping is a great way to blow off some steam and give the feeling that you are spending money without actually spending. ( That is until the temptation to hit 'continue to checkout button' is very high)

Happy to post something. Maybe this week I can get my monthly favorites and maybe, hopefully, even something! Yes, you heard me correctly, I have finally cleaned enough of my house to have a small area to film. I want to do a small intro, a monthly favorites and maybe an empties video. For now, east coast, enjoy the warmer weather!

Lots of Love,

Good Evening Bookworms!

Here are this weeks 'Wednesday Wisdoms", and since I have started working, my posting has not been consistent, so I will post these wisdoms towards the end of the week, probably Thursday or Friday night and just call them Weekly wisdoms. So here they are

1. When ordering anything at a food counter, please put your phone away, instead of saying hold on, and then text for the next 5 minutes, its rude, to put it nicely

2. Better late than never, while an old cliche, is very true, remember that before you get mad at someone for being/ doing something late

3. Emotional attachments to fictional characters is completely normal

4. Tips, even if it is just a few cents, is greatly appreciated ( and those cents add up quickly)

5. Time is precious, so spend it with those who will jump through hoops to just spend a few hours or even minutes with you

6. Missing someone is just a reminder that you love them

7. Friends are the ones who ask for a bit of your food, best friends are the ones who help themselves to the food off of your plate or the drink in your hand and help themselves

Enjoy your Memorial day weekend to those of you in the States. Get some sun for me!

Lots of Love,

As promised Bookworms, I have another post for you all.

As a fellow college student who is in a never ending battle of wanting her makeup to look flawless and effortless, I also don't have a lot (practically none) disposable income to spend on makeup or lessons to give the desired look. While Youtube is a haven for everything makeup these days, from finding your skins undertone to applying the perfect red lipstick, a tutorial can only help so much. I need someone telling me what to do and seeing/verifying that I am doing whatever it is, correctly. Lucky for all of you, I found a couple of ways to help, and it won't break the bank, and it can require a little to a lot of your time.

While walking around the little strip mall neat my house, I found myself, like every other beauty addict/junkie, walking into a makeup store, this one happened to be Bluemercury. While browsing the shelves I found a flier about upcoming make up events they were having. While reading I noticed that the events are welcome to whoever is available, all you have to do is call and make an appointment as there are limited seats.  It's that simple, and there are events from Bobbi Brown, to Laura Mercier to Nars; and all events have makeup artists trained by the respected company who run these events and are familiar with the products. A free makeup lesson by trained makeup artists, sign me up!

Don't have a Bluemercury near you, not to worry.

I am sure everyone knows about the Sephora Beauty Insider/ VIB Rouge memberships. But did you know that with both those status, yes both, not just the Rouge, that you can sign up for classes taught by trained Sephora employees. I have seen classes from how to contour to how to wear a bright lip color for you skin tone and everything in between. You can go online, find the Sephora near you, sign up, and perfect your makeup skills, no schooling or money required.

And our final option- good old makeup counters
While I won't go through each makeup brand that offers these services, I know that various brands at their counters, such as Bobbi Brown, in large department stores, such as Bloomingdale's or Nordstroms, offer classes ranging from 10 minutes to I believe 30 mins, that are free of cost last time I checked. I think MAC also offers these, however, I think that depending on what the class is, there may be a cost, correct me if I'm wrong.

I hope these could help some of you who, like me, sometimes need a little more than a tutorial on Youtube to master the perfect contour or cat flick. If you have any more information on brands that offer tutorials to there customers, let me know by emailing me at:, or just send an e-mail to say hello! Good night and talk to all of you very soon.

Lots of Love,
Hello bookworms! I have some news!

While I have about seven different ideas running through my head for a blog post, none of them are going to be this one, but I pinky promise that I will have another post up tonight.

While I was doing my daily Youtube binge, I realized that I am connected to the most popular social networks except one, Twitter.

So I have created a twitter account for all of you wonderful people to follow. Unfortunately, because of character restrictions, I had to tweak my username to bookworminstyle, which bummed me out a bit, but what can you do? So go on over to Twitter now and say hello, what you would like to see from me now that I have more free time or just tell me about you. I want to get to know some of the people who click on my blog and read my post ( no matter how inconsistent they have been recently)

That is all for now, now I can start on that post I promised.

Lots of Love,

Friday, May 15, 2015

Sorry for my absence, I decided to take the day off and post a little later so I could celebrate my birthday with my best friend. But now I am back and ready to go.

Just a quick update, I am home from the summer, which means I will be able to be more active and present on my blog, and I will be working so hopefully I can post much more and give you guys something more than just the regular Wednesday Wisdoms and the occasional random post. But for now, here are the past weeks Wednesday Wisdoms,

1. Don't be so hard on your self, you are doing just fine

2. Catching all the green lights on the way home from work will instantly make your day.

3. Sprinkles can land in places you didn't think possible

4. What ever you do, do it right or don't do it at all

5. There is that one song that you have that always puts you a good mood

6. Finding a song that you love that you forgot about on your phone is another instant mood booster

7. When working at an ice cream shop, you go through singles at a very fast rate, as in you can go through 50 singles in less than 5 minutes

For now, that is all I have. Hope everyone enjoys there Friday. I'll be back before you know it!

Lots of Love,

Wednesday, May 6, 2015

Good Evening Bookworms,

I don't know about all of you, but I am so ready for Friday, (it may have to do with the fact that Friday is my last day of classes for this year!) But none the less, it is still Wednesday and that means Wednesday Wisdoms. There are not many this week, as this week as flown by too quickly for me to truly process. But here are the few things I learned over the past few days.

1. Never save packing until the last minute; whether it is for vacation, long weekend to moving out of your dorm for college. You have a lot more stuff to pack then you think, so make a list and break it up into sections, it will make life easier and a lot less stressful.

2. The thought of being home, seeing your parents and doge and sleeping in your own bed is enough motivation to get through a tough week

3.Asking for clarification is never something that you should feel embarrassed about

4. There is no place like home (yes, that was a cheesy reference to The Wizard of Oz)

5. You don't realize how much certain people are a part of your daily routine until they leave for the summer

6. If it is finals week for anyone, remember; this is the time when printers can smell feel, so don't get too close to them

Like I said, this was incredibly short, but in my mind, a full week hasn't even gone by.

Hope everyone is enjoying their week, I hope to talk to you all really soon.

Lots of Love,

Ok, so I was bad last week, but in my defense, it is the last two weeks of the semester,  so as an apology, I have a lot of words of wisdom for you this week. Let's begin!

Wednesday Wisdoms

1.  A phone call means more than a text, no matter what the message is

2. Boys will always be confusing

3. Guys are genuinely scared of spiders ( trust me on this one)

4. There will be some things you will never understand and that is ok

5. The end of the semester is bittersweet, so enjoy every minute of it

6. Online math homework is never a good idea

7. Spring fever is a very real sickness

8. "You never lose, you either win, or learn"- Anonymous

9. Waiting to hear back from someone about something important is one of the most stressful things

10. Getting concert tickets, no matter how many concerts you have been to, will always be exciting

11. When doing economics homework, you need at least a dozen different colored pens

12. Reading an economics textbook is a great way to get yourself to fall asleep in under 2 minutes

13. Hearing the words I miss you is one of the best phrases to hear

14. Crossing tasks off a to-do list gives you a great sense of accomplishment- try it and see what you can get done

Good luck to everyone during their last week or so at college/university. Talk to you all very soon.

Lots of love,

Good Evening Bookworms! So this is a long overdue post, but with the semester coming to a close in less than a week, ( can I just say how quickly my first year of college went, the fact that I'm basically done boggles my mind), I have been very busy recently.

When I went home a few weekends ago for Easter Break, I was met with a little surprise on my front door steps. It was an Influenster box. I was kindly sent the Campus Voxbox, which included a Saint Ives apricot scrub, a Jergens Instant Sun self tanning mousse in dark, soft lips cube lip balm in mint, sour patch straws and a package of chewy candy and a sample of the L'oreal smooth intense ultimate strength shampoo, conditioner and treatment.

I have tried the chewy sour punch candy, and as a sweet tooth lover, especially sour, I really like these, though they do dye your tongue an interesting color when you are done.

I have not used the St. Ives scrub from this box, but have used this scrub in the past and I am excited to try it again for the first time in a long time.

As for the others, such as the Jergens, Softlips and L'oreal, I have not tried the products in this box but have used, and loved, other products from the brand previously.

I promise, and I mean pinky promise, that when I go home for the summer, there will be an in depth review of all of the products and maybe even a video to go along with it.

For now, I hope this gives you a little insight into what I have been doing recently.

Lots of Love,

Good Evening Bookworms!

Hope everyone has had a good week. I personally am excited for the approaching weekend, but thankfully, it is only two days away. Here are this weeks installments of Wednesday Wisdoms. Hopefully this week, I will be able to post something that I have never posted/talked about before on my blog. Stay tuned !

Wednesday Wisdoms

1. Somethings just don't go the way you planned

2.  You will have days where nothing that normally works won't, but remember, breathe, even bad days only last 24 hours

3. Mac and cheese + sriracha = *heart eyes*

4. You don't realize how much the stupid little mundane things mean to you until you loose them

5. Throwbacks are a great way to relive memories as well as embarrasses your family and friends

6. There are many ways to show you care about someone, and more often then not, it is shown without words

Enjoy and talk to you all very soon!

Lots of Love,

Wednesday, April 8, 2015

As promised, the Wednesday Wisdom's are going up, with just about an hour to spare. So enjoy,

1. Walking in the rain is magical

2. Being a gentleman will never go out of style

3. Not everyday is good, but there is something good in every day

4. Enjoy every day, live life in the moment, time does this funny thing of passing too quickly without us really noticing

5. What is right for you will not always be right for someone else

6. The best surprises are the ones you never thought were possible

7. You never really outgrow your childhood passions, or rather, you never outgrow the child within you

... And that is all I have for this week. Hope everyone is having an amazing week and will continue to pray for good/warm weather. A girl could get used to 70 degrees.

Lots of Love,

Hello Bookworms,

I cannot believe it is April! And with a new month means a monthly favorites. The past few months I have had favorites written down to post, but by the time I got to actually writing up the post, it was already two weeks into the following month and I just said to myself, just wait for next month.

Starting now, there will be no more, 'just wait for next month', I will keep on top of updating.

I apologize in advanced for no photos of my favorites as I left them at school when I came home for Easter Break.

March Favorites

1. Bare Minerals Matte Foundation

I will be honest, I was not expecting to like this, but on a whim, I walked into one of the free standing stores and asked them to match me for a foundation shade. I have combination skin, so it's very oily in spots and extremely dry in others. For me personally, with a primer, it works pretty well, but only for a very light coverage. I find it works best for my skin to use this to touch up my foundation throughout the day. In a simple phrase, it gets my stamp of approval.

2.  Clinique Super Primer

I got this as a sample from Sephora and was super excited when I got it as I have been a Clinique lover since my mom would let me use the makeup she would get with purchase ( the ones that always came with the really cool and colorful bags) This is a white primer, but they do make one targeted for particular areas of concern. Wile this does not work very well with mineral makeup, it works extremely well with any kind of liquid foundation. I have to use for a little bit longer to see if getting the full size is worth it.

3. Gerard Cosmetics

I ordered a lipstick and lipgloss awhile ago from Gerard Cosmetics, and after a small delay and a wonderful lady who works in there customer service area, I finally received my makeup. I am in love with their lipstick, the formula is on the matte side, so once they are one, they will not move. The lipgloss, I got the shade in buttercream, and while it is gorgeous, it just doesn't wow me. Its pigmented but it's quite thick, and for me at least, it leaves little pieces of 'stuff' on my lip. A great brand overall, just not sold on their lip glosses.

4. Organix Keratin Oil Shampoo and Conditioner

The winter months and weather have wreaked havoc on my hair and these two products saved my hair from the dry weather, put moisture back in and overall, gives life back into my hair. I love the smell, yet I'm not too sure how to describe it. Its a warm smell, yet there is something else about it that appeals to me. If your hair is in need of some moisture, try this one out, its cheep, can be found at the drugstore and works wonderfully.

5. Lush Mask of Magnaminty -

I have had acne since I was in the 7th grade, and have been going to a dermatologist since I was a sophomore in high school, needless to say, I have had my fair share or acne and red spots. This mask is amazing for drawing out the gunk in your face and calming the skin. A bonus for me is it combates the ridiculous amount of oil in my face and smells like a giant bottle of peppermint oil.

6. Youtubers -

I have loved watch Dacey Hapa on youtube. She is stunning, funny, intriguing, and incredibly talented. If you find yourself surfing the web while on a study break, go look her up and explore her channel!

I have also loved watching Samantha from Batalash. She is 100% real all the time, gorgeous and can pull off every look she ever wears, from silver hair to her 'talons' as she calls them. Again, take a look at her on Youtube during your next study break.

That is all I have for March Favorites, I will hopefully get weekly Wednesdays up sometime today. But until then, enjoy your day.

Lots of Love,

Happy Wednesday Bookworms!

Hope everyone is doing well, and hopefully enjoying the warm(er) weather. I just hope that this time, it sticks around for a while. With Easter Break approaching, that means a few days of relaxation before the last stretch of the semester is over.

And with that, here are a few things I have learned over the last few days,

Wednesday Wisdoms

1. Always use pencil when doing economics/ Calculus homework, trust me, you will thank me later

2. Family doesn't end in blood, and it doesn't start either

3. It takes longer than you think to remember that someone is gone

4. And its okay to cry when that realization hits you

5. Don't ever be afraid to ask a professor about what will be given on an exam. Don't be afraid to ask if certain formulas will be given, the worse case scenario is they say know, the best, they include them on the exam if you ask nicely. Asking nicely works wonders.

6. Being able to validate your reason, opinion, or answer is important ( it help me learn my previous 'wisdom')

7. Keep holding on, and always keep fighting

8. Friends are the people you can spend hours talking about the random things with, not those that only come to you for help and never offer it

Hopefully you either learned something or realized something yourself this week. Have a great rest of the week and talk to you all real soon.

Lots of Love,

Happy Weekend Bookworms,

It's that time of the week again ( three days late but who's counting), so here is this week's installment of Wednesday Wisdoms.

1. Freshly washed clothes are an instant mood booster

2.  Just because everyone else gets the same answer, and it is different from yours, does not mean you are wrong, have faith in your abilities

3. Unexpected texts always put a smile on my face and make the day better

4. Curve balls happen, just keep going

Unfortunately, I do not have much else to say, ( even though I had an extra few days to come up with other wisdoms) Talk to you all soon, ( the next few days are going to be crazy busy)

Lots of Love,

Good Morning Bookworms!

Hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday. If you are lucky, it is sunny and starting to warm up outside, and hopefully this is the final farewell to winter until next year. I don't know about any of you but this dreary weather is getting a bit depressing.

I thought I would blog while I wait for my laundry to be done, since it is the first time in awhile I am not running in multiple directions to get stuff done before the day ends.

As much as I would love to go on and on about the world of beauty and all it has to offer( all wonderful things, ) not is not the only reason I made this blog. While beauty is what I am interested in, I am still a college student who has a schedule, deadlines and bumps along the way. I want to document this experience to help others that are in the same boat as me, or those that what to know what to expect when you get to this point in your life. So here are a few tips on this Sunday afternoon.

Seniors in high school, PLEASE keep going and trying your hardest. Most of you have gotten most if not all of your letters from the colleges you applied to, so you have a pretty good idea where you will be going. If you have already committed, here is a little tidbit of information, colleges still want to see your last semester grades, to make sure you are still doing well. Just keep that in mind over the next few months.

Juniors, now is the time to start thinking about letters of recommendation, (letters that colleges want from teachers you have had either in class or through organizations through school.) Most teachers have a limit on how many students they will accept, so go to those 2 teachers who you think would write an awesome recommendation and see what they would want from you in order to write the recommendation.

Sophomores and Freshmen, just keep on going. Honestly, you still have at least a year before the craziness of college starts, though it never hurts to start early. The only thing I would suggest is think about what you may be interested in, in terms of what field you would want to go into. Talk to some upperclassmen with similar interests and see what classes they would suggest taking in order to further discover what you would want to do.

That's all I have for today. Hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend and I hope to talk to all of you soon!

Lots of Love,

Happy Friday 13th everyone!

I hope every one had a good week. My readers on the east coast, Please stay warm, I heard its in the negatives with the wind chill. For today's post I thought I would share some updates on the beauty scene. So here is what's new

Color Pop Cosmetics
Color Pop Cosmetics has released a line of 20 new blushes. I myself have not tried any of color pop cosmetics, but I would love to get my hands on them since it seems that every time I watch a youtube video, someone is talking about Color Pop. If you don't know about Color Pop Cosmetics, they are a US brand based out of California, Santa Monica to be exact. They are famous for not only their amazing lippie sticks, their take on lipstick, and their matching lippie pencils and their wide range of highly pigmented single eyeshadows, but the price  for each is, wait for it... $5 dollars.

Yes $5 for a lipstick, lip pencil or an eyeshadow. The blushes are a little more at $8 each, but from what I have seen and heard, for a few dollars more than drugstore makeup and a lot less than high end makeup, you are getting top quality products with the hefty price tag.

So want a new look and don't want to break the bank, head over to and go explore. ( Shipping is free for orders $30 and over)

Tarte Cosmetics
Tarte Cosmetics, as some of you may know, is now available through QVC. If there are any readers not from the United States, this may be something you want to listen to. Today, on QVC you can get 4 LipSurgence lip creams for $35, a 96 dollar value. That's an incredible deal.

Or, if gloss is more your style, you can get 5 LipSurgance lipglosses for $30, a $76 value.

Head on over before they are all gone, this is a limited time offer.

Gerard Cosmetics

Jaclyn Hill, the queen of the youtube beauty scene, teamed up with Gerard Cosmetics to bring you a wonderful selection of lipstick and lipgloss. While this may not be news to some of you, as this collection has been out for awhile, what is new is her discount code, 'pickurpout' where you can get the pick two combo (originally 43 dollars) for just $20. That's more than a 50% discount.

Another discount code is lips4you, which gives you the Just 4 Lips bundle for $39.

Follow their Instagram for updates. And subscribe to Jaclyn Hill on youtube, because her personality and videos are fantastic.

Tarte is also running a contest over on their Instagram account, where you could win a whole bunch of goodies. Check it out, the contest ends today.

For all of my Sephora Beauty Insiders, VIB and VIB Rouge, they have new deluxe samples that you can use with your points, one of which is a deluxe sample of the beauty blender solid cleaning soap.

Well, I think that is all I can remember. Hopefully updates will be more frequent since the craziness of exams are over ( for now) until then happy shopping.

Lots of Love,

Good Morning/Afternoon Bookworms,

I hope everyone is doing well this Saturday morning.
I have been absent for a few days because, well, college. Now the second semester is in full swing, so is the course work and to say its a lot is an understatement. I had two exams this past week and two this upcoming week, but I figured I would take a break to update you.

I have found a few things to help me get through the past few weeks and hope these help you too. There will not be pictures ( I am trying to get this up quickly for all of you, if I have time later I will have a follow up post including pic) and I will include a brief description of everything mentioned.

Consider these my January Favorites, ( these are late, I know)

1. Fit Bit
I received a Fit Bit as part of my christmas present and I love it. I have the Fit Bit Flex which is not the most basic model, but the one right below the basic. It automatically tracks my steps throughout the day, how many miles walked and a estimate of calories burned. Manually I can, through the app that can be downloaded from the App Store, log in the food I have eaten for the day, track my sleep and set goal for myself to set. It's a wonderful gadget to have, especially if you are dead set on keeping your New Year's Resolution to stay in shape or just be mindful of what you are eating.

2. Your Tea- Tiny Tea 14 day detox
This tea is, and I don't say this lightly, a wonder in a tea bag. It helps get rid of the toxins in your body and restores everything to normal, much like a juice cleanse without drinking green looking concoctions for three days straight.

3. Prada Candy Florale
Another Christmas present, I absolutely love this perfume. It's very sweet smelling when yo first spray it, but after a minute or two, the top, very floral notes dissipate and the more mild scent of flowers and sweet smell of caramel. Not exactly a winter scent, but it sure cheers you up from the doom and gloom of winter.

4. Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream
Speaking of the doom and gloom of winter, my hands have been super dry to the point where they start cracking. Not a pretty sight. This hand cream is the only thing that heals them and the best part of this lotion, besides the fact that it was no smell, it's about $5-$6. Go get some if your hands are suffering

5. Essie Apricot Cuticle Oil
To go along with the hand cream is this wonderful cuticle oil. While it may see redundant to use this, the cuticle tougher than the skin on your hand and for me at least needs a little extra something to keep them from cracking. One sweep on each finger and the cuticle in conjunction with the hand cream, and my hands are as good as new.

Moving on to the beauty section of these favorites

6. NYX Blush in Natural
AA very underrated blush, this gives the perfect, just in from the cold flush pink tint to your cheeks. It's cheap, small, and matte, so its good for every day looks, especially the days you have 8 AM Chemistry lab, and need something that you can do without a lot of time or sleep.

7. Maybelline Dream Lumi Concealer
Speaking of a lack of sleep, this past month, especially this past week has had a few late nights. This concealer has done a good just of just making me look more awake and ready for the day, despite the want to crawl back into bed.

8. NYX Tea Tree Blotting Paper
Despite it being winter, I have really oily skin and need to get rid of that shine halfway through the day. These are great at eliminating the shine without taking off any makeup. They take up no room in my bag and they are cheap.

Miscellaneous Favorites

9. YouTube
Alright, some of you may be going, "Really, YouTube is one of your favorites?" And my answer is yes, it really is. It is one of my favorites sites, but not just for pleasure, I use YouTube a lot for academic purposes. ( Later, I will have a post on my favorite channels to watch if you need help in a particular subject or just want another resources to use.) And then, of course, during my breaks in-between homework and studying, I love watching beauty gurus/artists.  Essie Button (Estee Lalonde) , Jacyln Hill, Dana Marie and Meghan Rienks to just name a few.

10. Valentines Day Non Perils
These may appear to be the most simple candy, but these have a serious addicting ingredient in them I swear. My friends and I do homework in the hallway of our dorm and love to have these are share them, so we all don't fell so guilty when we eat them. They are dark chocolate, so they have some health benefits( or so I tell myself)  We also get a good chuckle out of how pink they turn our tongues and teeth.

11. Supernatural and Pretty Little Liars
I honestly do not watch any TV while I am at college. The only time I had the TV on was to Watch the State of the Union Address for my Microeconomics class. However, I watch these two shows online, when I have a spare hour for a break. I have watch every single episode of each season for each of the shows. For Supernatural, what's not to love, great music, an awesome, to die for car and brother's kicking butt ( and they just happen to be extremely attractive.) And for Pretty Little Liars, awesome style, unbreakable friendship, and somehow, despite everything the Liars have been trough, I can't help but want to one of them. ( My personal choice is Aria.)

So those are all of my favorites for January. If you have any questions, leave them in the comments below. Also, what have you been loving this past month. Comment down below. See you all very soon.

Lots of Love,

Hello Bookworms,

I have a few updates for you very soon, they should be up by tonight! Hope everyone is having a good day.

Lots of Love,

Friday, January 30, 2015

I hope everyone had a wonderful week, and if you are reading this saying 'No, Catherine I had a terrible week!' well at least smile, this week is over. Even if you have work, sports or other extra curricular activities, I hope you can at least sleep in for at least an hour or too.

So I though I would do a weekly segment called, "This week I learned..." I'll share a few things that I have learned, both academically, socially and anything that falls in-between. So here is the first installment of This week I learned...

This week I learned...

1. Some professors don't care that Monday will be the day after the Super Bowl, they will give you an exam anyway.

2. Some people think chicken wings are disgusting

3. Intergration by parts and by partial fractions are not as bad as they first seemed.

4. I can actually say the above statement and mean it

5. If you are nice to people, they generally tend to be nice to you, if anything just smile, it makes a world of a difference ( not really something I learned, but it is something I was reminded of)

6. Sometimes you just can't explain circumstances as anything but fate

7. Bad things happen to good people ( This I was reminded of)

8. Life really can surprise you when you least expect it

9. You are never to old to just call your parents just to talk to them

10. If your college offers a tutoring service, sign up ( you do not need to be doing poorly in a class to want/ have a tutor)

That's all I can think for right now, I'll add later if I think of any more. I hope everyone enjoys this weekend, wether you are looking forward to watching the game of watching the commercials.

Lots of Love,

Monday, January 26, 2015

If you have any questions about anything, leave me a comment

Lots of Love,

Hello Everyone!

I hope everyone is doing well on this Monday morning. To all my east cost readers, I hope you all have enough blankets, batteries and warm sweaters with you, because the weather channel said you guys were going to be hit hard with snow, and in some places, blizzard like conditions.

This is actually why I am making this post currently. I rounded up some tips and warm weather gear to help you all through the next few days.

Snow essentials

       1. Batteries- If you live in a dorm, do yourself a favor and, even if you have a generator, do grab a pack or two of batteries, just trust me on this one.

      2. Now that you have batteries, make sure you have any and all flashlights in places you can easily get to ( that does not mean on the top shelf of your closet, where you think the flashlight  may be)

3. Charge everything, phone, laptop, tablet etc. The most important thing, don't just plug it in and then unplug it when it has a full charge, leave if charging so if/when the power goes out, it is 100% charged. You don't know how long you may be without power.

4. Keep checking your school email/ phone to make sure you are receiving any and all updates from the college as to class cancelation or college closings.

5. Speaking of checking your email/phone, check any websites that you may have homework on, print anything that you may need to read or complete so if the power does go out, you have it with you if you want to get it done.

6. DO NOT, under any circumstances, go outside without a heavy winter jacket. I don't care if it is to just walk to the dining hall, and I have 2 reasons for this. Number one; it is below freezing outside and frost bite or even wind burn can develop quickly, especially if there are high winds. And reason number two; it is flu season, don't make your body an open target by allowing yourself to catch a cold, which can waken your immune system and makes it easier to catch the flu.

So, all of that being said, stay safe and stay warm. More to come soon.

So, I have managed to get most of this reading done so I thought I would give everyone an update on what has been doing on.

Semester 2 of my 1st year of college is a go, and so far, its not too bad. I know what to expect and have a good idea of what needs to be changed so I can do better this semester.

Speaking of doing better, I, as well as a majority of the world's population, am determined to do well at treating my body better this year. That being said, I have managed to get my butt to the gym three times this week, ( my personal minimum for a week) and I order something that I have seen all over my instagram feed for over the past 6 months.

That would be, YourTea, the company that provides tea blends to help you achieve heath and body goals from the inside out. I ordered the tiny tea 14 day detox, but I have yet to get my shipment so I can't say it's a miracle product, but after some research, it seems to really help those who are eating right and exercising regularly. I'll keep you updated on what it does/or doesn't do.

If you would like to join me in this experiment, head on over to and order you tea right now!

Wow, that was a lot to say, I didn't seem like that much in my head. I'm am off to go to breakfast as my friends and banging on my door so we can eat. ( Side note: Who opens the dining hall or breakfast at 10! I'm hungry) Anyone else's dining hall open late on the weekends?

Until next time,
 Lots of Love,

Ok so maybe my 'brilliant' idea of getting something done over break didn't go as planned. To begin this long story we will start with December, so when I got home,  Finals drained my brain and body so naturally, all I wanted to do was sleep. Then i wanted to see friends I haven't seen since August, ( to say it was an emotional roller-coaster is an understatement). Then I blinked and it was Christmas Eve, and I was going out to celebrate with my family Italian style, seven fishes and the fixings. Then we went right to New Year's which then went right to two days before I left to go back to college and I realized that this blog had gone untouched for roughly 2 months. So yes, I am terrible at keeping this up. BUT! My New Year's resolution ( beside doing well in school eating healthy and the usual resolutions) is to keep this updated on at least a weekly basis, most likely the weekends. So today starts the trend ( better late than never)

I will update a little bit later, after I read my micro economics and do some chemistry.

Much love,
